ABOUT THE CREATORS

Hey ya'll! I'm Joanna! My husband, Steven,  and I are the creators and owners of Simpleton Creations.

I am an accountant and Steven is a graphic designer. *Thank God* Together we are small business owners based in Chicago, Illinois. We are coffee addicts that love horses and nature. You can often find us at a Starbucks getting our caffeine fix or in Southern Illinois running through corn fields. 

As you've probably seen from our instagram, we have a Pitbull/Retriever mix, named Slash. Yes, that Slash, as in the lead guitarist of Guns'n'Roses. She is the squishiest, sassiest bundle of joy! She loves driving with us to the post office to drop off your orders. 

HOW WE GOT STARTED 

We started crafting decorations, invitations and making t-shirts for our wedding and we realized we loved creating stuff! So after the wedding, we wanted to continue crafting and designing, and thats how Simpleton Creations was... created!  

At first, we focused on making shirts for weddings and bachelorette parties. After a few months, we realized creating those kinds of products was not our passion. We endured many challenges and successes, but we never gave up. We kept going back to the drawing board. We learned how to create cute shirts and handmade stickers with Cricut. With no formal business degree, but with extensive research and self-taught learning, we took the big leap and started our small business on Etsy.
